Headphones

Headphones was drawn in August of 2013.  It's 21 pages and it takes place in one day.

It is the last part of a 4 part book called June.  The first part of June is done and is called Baltimore (more on that some other time).  The middle two are called Muncie and Naperville which are written but not yet drawn.  They are all stories that happened on the same weekend in June.  It's all drawn with one Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph Pen (jewel tip) size 0.5, and no rulers.

Blew It

In the winter of 2012 I was pulling myself out of a 6 month Agoraphobia bender.  One of my plans to get better was to go to the Pourhouse Cafe and draw for 3 hours everyday.  All 50 pages of Blew It were drawn there.  I would come up with all the times that I blew it in the last relationship I was in and then draw the scenario.

I think everything I do is funny, even the sad stuff, but this is the first book I've done where everyone who reads it assures me that it's funny.  It's gotten a lot of laughs.

I was out of my league, out of practice, and 8 years older.  (forgot the tattoos a couple times I guess)

Said all the wrong things.

That Boy Girl Feeling

I drew 'That Boy Girl Feeling' while living in Arizona in the winter of '05.  It took about 3 months.  It was my first semi-autobiographfical comic book.  It's about a weekend with a new girlfriend in my early 20s.  Its embarrassingly naive.  70 pages of painful storytelling.

You've Changed

You've Changed was the 2nd book I drew.  It was about 50 pages, done with a brush, in the winter of '04.  It's 4 stories about animals in failing relationships.  I made about 50 copies of it (full size).  I then redrew it for some reason in 2006.  This version is the only book that I've done with 12 panel pages.  I inked it with a tiny Rapidograph Pen size .25.

I took out the story about the spiders and since the pages had 12 panels I condensed the book to 16 pages.  Never printed it though.  I also wrote a screenplay for a short film/teleplay called You've Changed in '02.  I also wrote a song called You've Changed in '04 and recorded it in '05 in Arizona and put it on 'Hey Hey Hey Now' .

TROUBLE

Trouble is a 12 page wordless comic I drew in the fall of 2012.  I came up with the idea from a nightmare I had.  I had gotten into Lynd Ward's work with the epic stories told through bold wordless images.  I thought something like that would be the best way to tell the story.  I want this to be a movie.  A terrifying movie.  Lars Von Trier could direct it.
